How has it affected our academic year students abroad?
During the last weeks we have had constant communication with the parents of the students who were currently taking an academic year abroad and who have been directly affected by this situation.
From the moment the state of alarm was implemented, we offered each of the parents individually, either to manage the return of their sons or daughters to Spain, or to continue in the program with the same guarantees as up to now.
CLS has managed with 100% success the return of all those who decided to do so and has ensured the well-being of the students whose parents have decided to continue in the program.
Likewise, it has been and is in direct contact with the Spanish Embassy and Consulates, providing the data of the students and their host families in order to coordinate any communication between the parties.
Finally, we are in contact with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports to find a joint solution for the validation of studies.
In short, we have tried to be close to parents and students constantly and solving and solving any particular situation we have encountered.
Our gratitude to all of you for your collaboration, words of encouragement and support during these weeks is immense.
How does it affect students enrolled in the 2020/21 School Year program?
All the parts that make up the program: school districts, local organizations, regional directors, coordinators, schools and families aim for the next academic year to develop normally, once this extraordinary situation is normalized for the start of the 2020 school year /twenty-one.
It may be necessary to make some adjustments as the months progress based on the fact that some schools must change the start date or there is some type of regulation that affects the program; as well as it is possible that there will be changes in our calendar of phases of the program regarding the dates of the orientation meetings or interviews to obtain the visa.
Our top priority is the safety of students who are about to embark on this exchange experience. If there are travel restrictions that prevent travel to the student’s destination country, we will work individually in each of the cases to provide you with the solution that you consider most convenient.
one- We will work on look for alternatives in another destination country
2- We would postpone the start date of the program (either for the same school year 2020/21, or for the academic year 2021/22) depending on health recommendations and travel restrictions
3- We would return the total amount paid, without applying any amount for cancellation fees if there are unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances that prevent CLS from organizing the program.
From CLS we are aware of all this, in contact with the competent institutions and administrations and we will act and keep you informed in any circumstance.
