1. CLS Idiomas Scholarships for Academic Excellence
Scholarships that start the year 2019 designed to reward students with very good academic performance. It has the longest application deadlines of the scholarships currently available in Spain to study in the USA.
Deadline for application: December 5, 2019 – May 1, 2020
Academic courses available: 4th ESO, 1st and 2nd of Baccalaureate

Academic conditions
Have obtained in the last final qualifications a average mark of 8.00 points or higher and that the English mark is not less than 8.00 points.
Economic conditions
Without restrictions. There are no economic conditions on the part of the scholarship applicant or the family unit
Geographical conditions
Without restrictions. Students residing in any part of Spain can apply for the scholarship.
2. Amancio Ortega Foundation Scholarships
They are the most competitive and restrictive scholarships but also the ones that grant the greatest financial aid to study 1st year of high school in the United States.
Deadline for application: September 23, 2019 – October 30, 2019

Academic conditions:
Having obtained in the final grades of 3rd ESO a minimum average mark of 7.00 points in all subjects and a minimum mark of 7.00 also in the English subject.
Economic conditions:
The Amancio Ortega Foundation does not reject applicants whose per capita income of the family unit is greater than 30,000 euros, although there are some scales to award the final score based on this amount. Families whose annual income is not more than 15,000 euros will receive a bonus of 6 points, while families whose annual income is more than 30,000 euros will obtain 0 points
Geographical conditions
500 scholarships are granted to students residing anywhere in Spain and 100 scholarships to students residing in Galicia.
3. Scholarships USA educational program of the city of La Coruña
These financial aids to study 1st year of high school in the US are perhaps the most unknown since they are limited only to the local area of the city of La Coruña. Only available to 4th ESO students residing in La Coruña who are studying 1st Baccalaureate in the USA.
Deadline for application: November 18, 2019 – December 10, 2019

Academic conditions:
In order to apply for this scholarship, the student must have obtained an average grade of at least 6.5 points in 3rd year of ESO and have not failed any subject. In addition, you must have obtained a minimum grade in the English course of 7.00 points or higher.
Economic conditions:
Like the scholarships awarded by the Amancio Ortega Foundation, the amount of the scholarship from the city of La Coruña is awarded based on the annual income of the applicant’s family unit in a range that ranges from 5% to 95% of the cost total program.
Geographical conditions
In order to apply for these scholarships, it is mandatory to be a resident and be registered in the city of La Coruña.
Are there specific scholarships to study 2nd year of high school in the United States?
Currently only CLS Academic Excellence Scholarships They are available to study 2nd year of high school in the US since the scholarships from the Amancio Ortega Foundation and the scholarships awarded by the city of La Coruña are limited to students who are in 4th ESO and want to study 1st year of high school the following year.
Are there scholarships or grants from the Ministry of Education to study a school year in the US?
Currently there is no open call by the Ministry to study secondary or high school in the USA. The aid available comes from private entities and is extraordinarily competitive.
